I just have to tell folks about the fact that my daughter, Shadoe, already an accomplished musician, scholar, and (as I just found out), a geneaology investigator, is on the verge of being a published author.
She wrote a novel in the fantasy-fiction, Anne Rice-meets-Stephen King kind of vein, titled "Changing by Moonlight-A Wolf is Born."
She submitted summaries to several publishing companies and received multiple publishing offers. It's awesome!
And I did check them all out, and they are all legitimate companies with good records.

The Band has been busy!

Man, have I been busy! Haven't been here recently, but here's why. As some of you know, I have been playing with a really hot and smoking alt/country-rockabilly-cowpunk blues band. We have had a lot of shows in the last couple of months. As a point of note we played two AFI (American Film Festival) shows this month, one in Austin and one in Dallas. They were great. In Austin, we got to headline and play along with really cool acts like the Lonesome Spurs and Blacktop Gypsy. In Dallas, we had another which was the AFI Dallas opening night gala at the Downtown Neiman Marcus. There were lots of cool folks in attendance. Some celebs I noticed personally were Lauren Bacall and Bill Paxton.
Didn't meet them. Too busy rocking out.
We got some cool press out of it too.
So, check out my MySpace site and keep up with our dates. Our next date in Dallas is at Adair's in Deep Ellum on April 14th I believe. We play the 6th at "The Boxcar" in Cedar Hill (just south of Dallas, where all the radio towers are), but check my site because I post the dates as soon as I learn of them.
I hope that some of you come out and see us! Come introduce yourselves if I don't already know you. I will be the guy rocking the drum kit.
